Mountain View
- For Emanuele
Pirro the most beautiful stretch on the
Salzburgring is the extremely fast
boxstop curve.
-
- Hardest
Race
-
- Otherwise,
Emanuele is hard pressed to find anything
else desirable about this circuit. In
1996 he had his worst racing weekend
right here and, in this season, the long
straights promise to again make the life
difficult for the Quattro pilot.
-
-
- Fast
and Dangerous
-
- Emanuele
considers this extremely fast circuit
quite dangerous. The lap record dates
back 20 years to the Racecar World
Championship of 1977. The only thing that
will soothe the merely moderate
competition of the Audi Quattro will be
the magnificent setting of the racetrack
amidst green willows in a scenic valley
of the Alps.
-
- Another
racing persona, Niki Lauda, had for many
years been resident of Hof, the town next
to the Salzburgring.
