The Traditional Event

In 1996, the full-length circuit of the Nürburgring did not even appear on STW calendar (not counting the 20 km North circuit). This year, the STW-Cup has the honor of holding one of the most established German racing events - the legendary "Eifelrennen". Older than the Nuerburgring itself, this event has been held here since 1927.

Favorite Course

Although this course is far optimal for the Audi Quattro, the Nuerburgring is Emanuele's clear favorite circuit of this year's calendar. He considers this course more difficult than some people make of it. Emanuele should know - in 1990 he left a winner in BMW M3 in the DTM race, and then again in the 1995 and 1996 STW sprint and race.

Inconsistent Veedol Handicap

Emanuele views as key elements the Castrol-S behind the starting line and the RTL curve, which allows for a quick overtaking early on. Less enthusiastic, like most drivers, is he about the Pylons in the Veedol Handicap which make it inconsistent almost from lap to lap. This is particularly difficult during training laps because he never can tell in advance which line is the best to follow.
